Pravin Patel is Vice President and General Manager of the AI Platform Solutions Group at Astera Labs, where Pravin leads the company’s vision for Rack-Scale Architecture in the AI era. In this role, Pravin is responsible for shaping the company’s platform strategy and roadmaps, overseeing development and partnerships, and driving customer relations and revenue generation.
A visionary leader with over 30 years of deep domain expertise, Pravin is recognized for translating complex engineering innovation into large-scale commercial success. Prior to Astera Labs, Pravin held leadership roles at Lenovo, serving as Chief Systems Architect and Distinguished Engineer. There, Pravin led the architecture and delivery of the industry-leading ThinkSystem portfolio spanning AI/ML/LLM, SAP HANA, high-performance computing (HPC), and telco platforms, including the groundbreaking Neptune™ water-cooled GPU systems. He also played a key role in pioneering a universal GPU architecture that enables heterogeneous compute across NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel platforms. His leadership was pivotal in securing and executing flagship multi-billion-dollar Neo Scale and Cloud Service Provider deals, providing the infrastructure backbone for some of the world’s most significant AI and cloud deployments. Most recently, Pravin spearheaded high-impact collaborations with NVIDIA (EDA) group, generating billions in revenue.
A prolific innovator, Pravin holds more than 70 issued patents and actively contributes to the engineering community through numerous publications with IEEE and DesignCon.
