900-employee campus powers Astera Labs’ mission to usher in the rack-scale computing era
SAN JOSE, Calif.– July 18, 2025 – Astera Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALAB), a provider of semiconductor connectivity solutions for AI and cloud infrastructure, today announced the opening of its new corporate headquarters in San Jose, California. Designed to accommodate up to 900 employees, the new headquarters features expanded state-of-the-art R&D labs, collaborative workspaces, and an executive briefing center (EBC) as the company continues its rapid expansion.
“At Astera Labs, we’ve witnessed firsthand how AI’s explosive growth has created unprecedented demand for the specialized chips that power these systems,” said Sanjay Gajendra, president and chief operating officer of Astera Labs. “The new headquarters allows us to attract and grow the exceptional engineering talent that Silicon Valley is known for, positioning us to lead the transformation to rack-scale AI infrastructure where entire racks function as unified computing platforms. We thank Mayor Matt Mahen and the City of San Jose for supporting our growth as we continue building the future of AI infrastructure.”
Astera Labs has experienced rapid growth driven by surging demand for AI infrastructure, with its initial public offering in March 2024 serving as a key milestone in the company’s journey. The new headquarters opening represents another significant milestone, reflecting the company’s commitment to Silicon Valley as a center of innovation, with plans to significantly expand its local engineering team and deepen partnerships with the region’s leading technology companies.
“Astera Labs’ decision to establish their global headquarters in San Jose speaks volumes about the concentration of talent that puts our city at the epicenter of technological innovation,” said Matt Mahan. “This expansion brings hundreds of cutting-edge jobs to our community and highlights the incredible growth we’re seeing in semiconductors and other AI-related hardware. We look forward to supporting Astera Labs’ growth here in the Capital of Silicon Valley.”
Located at 2345 North First Street in San Jose, the new Astera Labs headquarters features state-of-the-art facilities, including the Cloud-Scale Interop Lab and EBC. The campus also preserves the Emily J. Horn House, a historic 1904 Colonial Revival residence that once belonged to pioneering woman orchardist Emily Horn who operated pear orchards in what was then the heart of Santa Clara Valley’s agricultural landscape. The landmark reflects the company’s respect for the innovative spirit that has always defined this region, from agricultural pioneers to today’s semiconductor engineers turning bold ideas into reality.
